Join me in Manchester, Toulouse, Paris, Dublin, Maynooth and London!
There's something for (almost) everyone)
I have been in Europe since early April. I started with a keynote at the the ‘Beyond Polarization and Instrumentalization: Antisemitism and Other Racisms’ conference organised at Lund University on 7-8 April. I also gave a talk about the trajectory to my new book, The New Racial Regime: Recalibrations of White Supremacy and its methodology at the University on 9 May. Hansalbin Sältenberg was the organiser and a perfect host. I also had the pleassure of sharing a platform with brilliant thinkers Gil Anidjar, Anna Younes and others.

On 14 April, together with the Sarah Parker Remond Centre and the Anti-Genocide University at University College London, and facilitated by SPRC Director Gargu Bhattacharyya I organised a great session on the work of the Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism, ‘What is the Critical Study of Zionism?’ with Hil Aked and Clive Gabay. The event was very well attended amd there was a lot of interest in the Institute’s work.
Now it’s on to a busy few weeks. On Tuesday 22 April (13.30 UK time) I will be giving a talk at the Centre on the Dynamics of Ethnicity (CoDE) at Manchester University, ‘Against Definitions’. This talk discusses the fifth chapter of The New Racial Regime and argues that allowing institutions to set the parameters of how we define racism weakens freedom struggles.
